3D printing quote API: upload an STL and compare estimates

Use PartPacket when your script needs prices for an STL file without opening a separate quote form for each provider. The live route supports FDM printing through Slant 3D and Craftcloud. It does not currently quote CNC machining or sheet metal.

No account or API key is needed to quote. Use an STL in millimeters, up to 8 MiB. Quote requests may take up to a minute. Limits during launch are 20 requests per IP per UTC day and 100 service-wide.

Read the response before choosing a provider

The response includes quotes, provider status and a private quoteAccessToken. Save that token securely to retrieve the quote. Each estimate separates providerTotalPrice, partpacketFee, totalPrice and shipping. The current PartPacket fee is 10%. A missing shipping price is unknown; it is not free shipping. Tax is separate.

A failed provider returns its status, not a made-up price. Do not retry automatically after losing the upload response: the request may already have reached providers.

From quote to order request

Quotes are retained for seven days, but a provider estimate can expire sooner. Check expiresAt and refresh before relying on an old price. Order review requires a saved quote and its access token. It is available only when orderRequestsAvailable is true. No endpoint charges a card or places a provider order.
