PartPacket guides

Looking for a SendCutSend alternative with an API? Check the process first

If you need a sheet-metal part cut and bent, PartPacket cannot replace that workflow today. Its live API quotes FDM 3D printing from STL files. Sheet-metal quoting through Fabworks is planned but is not connected.

Start with the manufacturing process

SendCutSend’s getting-started guide describes its file requirements, including 2D vector formats and STEP/STP. PartPacket’s connected quote route accepts STL in millimeters. Changing a file extension does not turn a flat metal design into a suitable printed part.

Where PartPacket is useful now

For a prototype you already intend to print in PLA or PETG, upload the STL once and compare returned Slant 3D and Craftcloud estimates through the website, REST API or MCP. Keep the manufacturing choice separate from the price comparison: a printed polymer part is not automatically a substitute for metal.

What the API can and cannot do

GET /api/v1/providers reports connected providers and supported file types. POST /api/v1/quotes returns estimates with a separate PartPacket fee, shipping information and provider status. No endpoint places a fabrication order or collects payment. When enabled, order review only records a request for a person to review.

If sheet metal is a requirement, use a provider that supports that process now. Check PartPacket’s provider endpoint before building a workflow around a planned connection.

Upload your STL or read the full REST and MCP reference. See our file retention and privacy policy before uploading.
